River Partners’ 2025 Impact Report Hope In Action showcases what’s possible when we come together with a shared vision to bring life back to our rivers.
These revitalized landscapes are doing exactly what they were designed to do—expanding wildlife habitat, reducing flood risk, replenishing groundwater, storing carbon naturally, strengthening local communities, and creating thriving outdoor spaces for communities.

River Partners’ 2025 Impact Report: Hope In Action
Hope in Action highlights a landmark year—surpassing over 20,000 riverway acres restored statewide, across every major watershed. From reviving salmon runs and expanding access to Central Valley parkways to maximizing the benefits of the largest dam removal in U.S. history, see how, together, we’re restoring rivers, rebuilding resilience, and creating a thriving California for generations to come.
Multiply Your Impact. Restore 20x More Rivers.
Until December 31, all gifts to River Partners will be matched dollar for dollar—doubling your impact.
And, every dollar we raise unlocks at least $10 in public funding. That means your support goes 20x further to restore nature, protect communities and bring rivers back to life across California.
A few highlights from 2025:
- We surpassed 20,000 acres restored across every major watershed in California, the largest on-the-ground restoration footprint in the West.
- We added nearly 1,000 new acres of restoration this year, planting more than 211,000 native trees and plants and channeling over $25 million into local communities where we work.
- At Dos Rios State Park in Stanislaus County, where over the last 10 years we transformed a former ranch into thriving floodplain habitat that became California’s newest state park in 2024, over 10,000 visitors have been welcomed to enjoy 14 miles of new trails in one of the most park-starved regions in the state.
- Our Heritage Growers native seed farm produced more than 30,000 pounds of seed from over 200+ native species, fueling restoration projects statewide—including the historic Klamath River renewal, the largest dam removal in U.S. history.
- We launched our Tribal Engagement Program, uplifting indigenous leadership and collaboration in restoration throughout the state.
- We deployed state-of-the-art research tools within the expanding living laboratories of our restoration areas and continued training the next generation of conservation leaders.
- We leveraged $4 million in private funding to unlock $59 million in public support, multiplying ever donor dollar to accelerate restoration across California.
This is what HOPE in ACTION looks like.
Together with our partners, we’re proving what California’s restoration future can look like: one where fish and farms thrive together, where flood safety and ecosystem health go hand in hand, and where future generations will rest in the shade of the trees we plant today.
