The Hamilton City Phase II Restoration project was a history-making effort, thanks to support by The Nature Conservancy and a commitment by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Around 67,000 native trees and vegetation planted on nearly 465 acres of former agricultural fields along the banks of the Sacramento River will one day offer wildlife with a place to live and thrive while providing the town of Hamilton City with some safety from flooding.
This was not designed to be a climate-based adaptation project, but it turns out that it is. This is exactly what you need to deal with future climate scenarios.
