With about 380 acres of floodplain and habitat, River Partners’ Hidden Valley Ranch restoration project is underway. About 80,000 nursery plants and 2,500 pounds of grass and wildflower seeds will be placed in the ground to help create riparian habitat and while giving nearby communities respite during times of heavy rain and flooding.

The big goals of the project are to create habitat for plans and wildlife that are short on those options here…,” said River Partners Senior Restoration Scientist Neil Wilson, “and to open up the site to flood waters during peak flood season periods.
