River Partners is leading the largest coordinated monarch recovery effort in the West—we planted over 30,000 milkweed plants last year to provide habitat for butterflies whose populations have plummeted 99% and is on the edge of extinction.
A recent Bakersfield Californian front-page article highlights monarch caterpillars recently spotted feasting on the leaves of restored milkweed plants at one of our restoration sites near Bakersfield.
