The riparian restoration of the Wilson Landing Unit allowed for many community outreach opportunities. The site has hosted educational opportunities for many agency personnel, including DFG management, who visited the site in 2009.
Through coordination with DWR and DFG, Wilson Landing was chosen as a training site for mapping personnel while creating the riparian map in conjunction with the Central Valley Flood Protection Plan.
The site hosted multiple boy scout events and school plantings. A Colusa high school student used the site for her senior project, and created a short film about restoration implementation to show in class.
