Do you value clean water, wild rivers, and healthy forests? Are you willing to lend your talents and enthusiasm to improve fish and wildlife habitat? Would you rather plant a tree than write a report? Are you excited to work with a dynamic team of ecologists, farmers, and entrepreneurs? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then you are a perfect candidate to work with River Partners to transform our natural environment.

River Partners is a California-based nonprofit organization dedicated to the restoration and preservation of rivers and floodplain ecosystems. Over the last 19 years, our organization has protected and restored over 11,000 acres of flood-prone farm fields into forests teeming with wildlife and recreation opportunities such as boating, fishing and bird-watching. In doing so, we have planted over 2 million native trees and shrubs. Our staff is committed to getting things done. Since 2010, we have purchased $33 million worth of real estate throughout California. Once we acquire property, we re-establish native forests that are ecologically designed to benefit critically-endangered species, while also benefitting public flood safety, environmental quality, and diversified local economies. We are proud that our work protecting wildlife also benefits the underserved communities and people of California.

River Partners is a successful, financially stable, entrepreneurial nonprofit. We generate an average of $7 million in revenue each year by securing for-profit contracts and government grants. We are the largest, and most experienced riparian habitat restoration contractor in California. We have built strong relationships with the agricultural, governmental, and nonprofit communities as a result of our record of success. Our work has been recognized with several awards, including the Governors’ Environmental and Economic Leadership Award.

Notwithstanding our accomplishments and awards, the single best thing about River Partners is the people.  Our partners, board, and staff are committed, creative, collaborative and diverse. We produce amazing results and have a lot of fun along the way.

River Partners is currently seeking a highly motivated Philanthropy Director to help us diversify our revenue stream and support our organization’s growth through large private donations. Our organization currently receives less than 2% of our revenue from private sources. With offices in Northern, Central and Southern California, there are multiple philanthropic communities that have not been exposed to River Partners successes and vision. Please visit riverpartners.org for more information about the work that we do and make your own evaluation. If you like what you see, and you believe that your talents and networks can help us recruit large donors, please consider becoming a River Partner and apply today.
